Run by the fifth generation of the Mariani family, this restaurant has been open for over 130 years. The focus is on offal – the menu dates to a time when the restaurant was near a slaughterhouse – and if you enjoy a dish like coda alla vaccinara (oxtail braised with tomato and celery), this is the place to have it. There is also a tasting menu of well-executed Roman classics that trace the restaurant’s history. A good selection of cheeses and a varied wine list complete the experience.
