Chez Black
Positano, Italy
Located in the lovely village of Positano, Chez Black was opened in the late 1950s by Salvatore Russo, nicknamed “Black” for his dark eyes, to fuel with pizza and pasta the booming tourism industry at a time when Americans had discovered the charms of the Amalfi Coast. There’s a lot of folklore, starting with the fact that everything is boat-themed and the walls are covered with pictures of celebrities who have dined there. But the specialties are pretty sound: pasta with sea urchins, fish soup or paccheri of Gragnano with Positanese sauce.
