Hackney Wick is a long way from the coast, but Tom Brown, a former Nathan Outlaw head chef, makes the seafood sing at his hip neighborhood restaurant, Cornerstone, in east London. There’s nary a scrap of meat on offer; the menu is a celebration of fish, in every guise imaginable, from piscine pastrami made of trout, to cuttlefish cacio e pepe or hake Kyiv oozing Café de Paris butter. A lively vibe, thanks to the open kitchen and upbeat tunes. The short European list is, unsurprisingly, stronger on whites.
