El Quim

Quim Márquez opened this small restaurant at the back of La Boqueria Market in 1987, eventually turning it into one of the best casual dining experiences in the world. Open for breakfast and lunch, the  eggs fried in olive oil are irresistible, and can be ordered with ham, langueta (tiny fish), prawns cooked in cava, caramelized foie gras or the house specialty, baby squid. A wide variety of fish and seafood are cooked ala plancha, along with meat dishes like butifarra sausage and beans and stews of tripe and bull’s tail. Expect to wait for seats at the counter.
