Born and bred in Venice, brothers Alberto (chef) and Dario (sommelier) Spezzamonte opened Estro Vino e Cucina in 2014. In the ten years since, Estro has proved to be one of the most consistent, affordable and genuine dining options in the city. Fish from the Rialto Market goes into the traditional Venetian antipasto – creamed cod with polenta chips, grilled octopus with potatoes and celeriac, scampi in saor (fried and then marinated in vinegar) – and in the tagliatelle with scampi, to be paired with options from the vast and mostly natural-oriented wine list Dario curates.
