José Pizarro’s tapas bar delivers a true Spanish experience, from the food and drinks to the high stools, tiled counter and first come, first served seating policy. It’s a tiny spot, on a corner on Bermondsey Street, with the Fashion and Textile Museum in one direction and the White Cube gallery in the other. The day’s menu is chalked up on the board and is as traditional as it gets. Choose jamón ibérico, hand cut before your very eyes, boquerones, croquetas, padrón peppers or clams with fino. Fifty wines and sherries are available by the glass.
