La Rosetta

From the center of Rome, the sea can feel far away, so the city’s culinary tradition is much more connected to the countryside. La Rosetta has long been the odd one out: Opened in 1966, it has over time become an institution known for its cucina di mare. Massimo Riccioli – at the helm since 1981 – serves up a no-fuss array of dishes, such as a flawless carpaccio and crudo, along with a variety of primi like the signature risotto allo scoglio, a riff on spaghetti allo scoglio, with seafood and tomato sauce.
