People who live in the north of Italy have so much respect for Franco Pepe that they often traveled to the small town of Caiazzo, 45 minutes north of Naples, just to eat his pizzas. Now that Pepe has joined forces with the owners of the lovely Albereta resort, the journey has become less arduous. La Filiale (literally, “the branch”) is the name of this lovely outpost in the heart of Italy’s hilly Franciacorta region, where guests can enjoy a menu filled with the greatest hits of Franco’s Pepe in Grani flagship, including the famous margherita sbagliata (“done wrong”).
