Madhu’s is a family affair going back generations to Nairobi 1935. What was once a catering business, then a hotel, has grown to become a small empire of restaurants with outposts in Southall, Heathrow (handy for a pre-flight refuel), Mayfair, Richmond and beyond. The original U.K. site opened in 1980, quickly establishing a loyal clientele for its excellent-value Punjabi cuisine. Long-time fans return again and again for the biryani, the tandoori-grilled chicken tikka or the king prawns achari. Set over two floors, the restaurant is smartly accoutred and often very busy, particularly at the weekend.
