Marchesi 1824
Milan, Italy
Since being bought out by the quintessentially Milanese fashion house Prada, Marchesi 1824 has been quietly rebranding itself as a sort of edible lifestyle accessory and has opened a couple more pastel-colored pasticcerias in Milan. The quality of their tiny, beautiful cannoncini and bignè is consistently great in all locations, but the unique ambience of the original one – inside a 16th-century building in the heart of the city center – makes it worth a visit for a traditional Italian breakfast, enjoyed while standing at its century-old brass counter.
