In its near-century of existence, Osteria da Fortunata has honed the perfect formula for the Roman trattoria, resulting in the operation of four locations, three in Rome and one in Milan. Fresh pasta is made multiple times a day, and bread, tarts and desserts are all made on the premises every morning. The menu is a compendium of all the Roman classics, made properly: think supplì, croquettes, olive all’ascolana (stuffed olives), zucchini blossoms, artichoke Roman-style and Jewish-style (deep fried, as a flower) and fettuccine with an oxtail sauce, all served on artistically chipped plates.
