With its founding dating back to 1869, and with Grade II listed benches serving as seating, few restaurants can compete with Quality Chophouse in terms of nostalgia, let alone quirkiness. It’s had its ups and downs over the years, but in 2012, the group that runs The Portland reopened the restaurant with Shaun Searley running the kitchen, where he remains to this day. The menu tends toward modern European, like croquettes of Mangalitza pork with chili mayonnaise as well as the obligatory steaks and chops.
