Quo Vadis
London, United Kingdom
Quo Vadis, founded in 1926, is a Soho institution. Now in the hands of the Hart brothers (Barrafina, etc.) and much-loved Scottish chef Jeremy Lee, it’s a white-linen and wildflower-bedecked refuge from the world outside. The smoked-eel sandwich is now iconic, but the British seasons have plenty more to give – such as hake, crab and tomato and tarragon broth, pheasant with cabbage and bacon, and “proper” puddings like brown-sugar meringue with Yorkshire rhubarb, cream and custard.
