Restaurant Can Pineda
Paris, France
This traditional Catalan house started out in 1906 as a family winery before being transformed into a restaurant in the ’70s. It’s a simple tavern with tiled walls and personal photographs, where the longtime clientele enjoys traditional Catalan stews and market cuisine. The classic dishes include “oxtail of 40 years ago,” poached eggs with truffle, tripe, beef farcellet, the small escudella (Andorran pork stew), and Montserrat of conger eel broth with cod loin and fish ball, along with various dishes based on seasonal produce.
