A famous address for fine Indian food in Mayfair that has always been a favorite of celebs, Tamarind was reconfigured in 2018, brightening up the old basement restaurant, adding open kitchen and extending to the first floor. It’s sleeker and chicer than previously, the menu lightened up to suit modern tastes. So, yes, you’ll find Hyderabadi lamb biryani, chicken tikka or lamb chops, but you’ll also encounter coconut and chili sea bass with salmon roe salsa, curly kale salad, and crispy spicy lobster in red chili jam.
