Trattoria Al Due Platani

The two sycamore trees (i due platani) in front of this wonderful trattoria might be long gone, but the warm atmosphere that it has offered for nearly a century lives on. New owners took the place over in 2005 with the idea of serving perfectly executed versions of traditional Emilian recipes. Salumi is eaten with torta fritta (diamond-shaped dough bites, fried in lard), as is state-of-the-art tortelli d’erbetta (with ricotta and greens), and don’t forget to leave some space for the gelato churned twice a day and served right out of a Carpigiani machine. Superb wine list.
