Trattoria Antiche Carampane

In the city’s San Polo district, hidden between the courtyards and streets of the historic center, Antiche Carampane offers a traditional cuisine based on seasonal vegetables and fish sourced from the Rialto market. Highly recommended is the Cassopipa spaghettini, with its spicy shellfish ragù, as well as other traditional Venetian dishes such as baccalà and a fritto misto with shrimps, calamari, baby sole and the catch of the day.  There are good homemade desserts, and the list includes an interesting choice of organic wines.
