Vivanda
Cádiz, Spain
The Sarrià district, a residential neighborhood that begins at Avenue Diagonal and extends all the way up to Mount Tibidabo, is mostly residential and an unusual place to open a restaurant. The flip side is that it’s a place where you can get away from the hustle and bustle of Barcelona – especially if you are able to snag a table in the restaurant’s garden. Alkimia’s Jordi Vilà designed the menu of Catalan comfort food: croquetas, tortillas, terrines and rice and noodle dishes, along with a dozen meat and fish preparations. The house specialty is steak tartare with butter and spices.
